Barcome Mills - Wild Swimming

This year has been all about getting back to nature for me - the restrictions on movement and freedom we've all been facing, and the limits on what we're able to do have made this all the more important.

I've always loved the water and swum during the warmer parts of the year, but this is the first year where i've really felt drawn to brave the cold and just get in, even as we head into winter.

These images were taken at one of my favourite spots over a period of a couple of months as the Summer drew to a close and we headed in to Autumn. While spending quite a lot of time there, I found myself really drawn to documenting how people interact with the water, and how the environment changes at different times of day. There's something magical about the surface of the water, and what it can hide, reflect or reveal. However much I go there I always find something new I want to photograph.
