It was an honour to be part of the inaugural Baton of Hope in Brighton, a nationwide initiative to spread awareness of and start conversations around suicide, with a mission to bring about change in how we talk about, approach, and support those affected by it.
The baton travelled cities the length of the country, carried by teams of volunteers who had a shared experience of loss by suicide, and visited Brighton before going on to the final event at the Houses of Parliament. It was an emotional event, listening to people's stories, and I was overwhelmed in seeing the community come together to remember loved ones and raise awareness with the hope of helping prevent future loss.
