Last week I spent a lovely morning photographing Times bestselling author Holly Bourne for her publishing house Hodder and Stoughton, ahead of the launch of her new book 'So thrilled for you' - her debut adult novel, following on from an impressive and pretty prolific bio of writing critically acclaimed young adult fiction.

The images were shot for national press releases and have featured in an article for the Times Culture
Beginning her career as a news journalist and then editor, Holly spent six years working as relationship advisor for a youth charity, and inspired by this she began to write young adult novels. Her work spans themes of sexism and feminism, and mental health, all with a healthy dose of humour.
Here's what Holly said about the book:
"Welcome to the world's worst baby shower... I am beyond giddy to announce my new adult fiction book, SO THRILLED FOR YOU, which is publishing January 2025. This novel is a gloriously deranged whodunit, following four best friends and their motives for arson. It explores how motherhood fractures female friendships, and the tensions, jealousies, insecurities, and grief it can cause. I hope it's a work of extreme empathy for all women, regardless of their relationship with motherhood...with added vulva piñatas, fertilised cupcakes, peony walls, cringe games, and FIRE... lots and lots of fire."

With some amazing review already, sure this book will be an awesome success!
